History of Cordoba
Cordoba has one of the most extensive histories in Europe. Romans first settle here, the city also became home of Muslims in 711. The city only became part of Spain in 1236 under the reign of King Ferdinand III. Because of its rich history, the city became a world heritage site in 1984.
There is a reason why Cordoba became a world heritage site. Structures even from the Roman Era are pres erved in the city. The Roman Temple and mausoleum are popular Roman Era structures. The Great Mosque of Cordoba (8th century), the Synagogue and Iglesias Fernandinas are structures that should never be missed by any tourist.
