History of Sevilla

Sevilla is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. It’s the informal capital of Spain in the south because of its history and cultural importance. The city is believed to be more than 2,000 years old. The city was heavily influenced by the Moors who inhabited the city from 712 until it was conquered by King Fernando III of Castile. The name Sevilla came from Išbīliya which is a literal translation from the city’s first name, “Hispalis.”
