Holidays in Sevilla

Sevilla history

Seville (or Sevilla) is a 2000-year-old city which became a passage way or an entryway to other regions in the past and because of it, it eventually gained its own status. It was named Hispalis during the times of the Romans and you’ll find the aqueduct still standing in Seville which reminisce the times of the Romans when this place was once called Hispalis.

Sevilla attractions

The Cathedral of Seville is one of its main attractions and it has a good history behind it since it was established back in 1519 after being built for over a century from 1401 up to 1519. It may also be the largest cathedral you’d ever visit as there are just a few cathedrals in the world that could beat its size and volume. There are many more attractions in Seville that are over hundreds of years old. Seville is an inland city and you won’t find any beaches here. But, if ever you are in Seville and you want to enjoy the cool ocean breeze and swim clear waters then go and head south to Tarifa up to Chiclana where you’ll find great beaches such as Trafalgar.

Going out in Sevilla

You’ll love dining in Seville especially if you love tasting different cuisines. It is known as a gastronomic centre which means you’ll have a taste of cuisines from nearby provinces.
