City Breaks in Valencia
History
Valencia was founded back in the year 138BC when the Romans gave it the name “Valentia”. Before the 8th century, Valentia was home to Greeks, Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Visigoths, Romans and Byzantines but in the eighth century, the occupants of Valentia were the Moors and they stayed there for 500 years. They had a huge influence that is still felt today around Valencia. They introduced the irrigation system as well as trading of fruits, ceramics and rice.
