City Breaks in Barcelona
History
There are two legends about how Barcelona was founded. The first legend says that it was founded by Hercules before Rome was built and according to the second legend the Carthaginian Hamilcar Barca founded the city and named it Barcino during the 3rd Century BC.
Attractions
Top attraction here is the Sagrada familia or the Holy family by Antonio Gaudi. It’s a huge church that is not yet completely finished even if its construction began in 1882. Another popular attraction is the L’Aquarium. It’s very popular especially for families with young kids.It is a very popular and fascinating attraction in Barcelona.
Going Out
There are lots of things to do in Barcelona. Dinner time is normally around 9PM then it’s an all night of fun after. Bars and clubs are ready for the crowd around 2AM and it’s time to go dancing until daybreak. If that’s not what you fancy, then go out and enjoy some live jazz music.
Beaches
Barceloneta is a popular beach in Barcelona. Not only you'll get a tan there but you’ll enjoy the busy atmosphere with lots of fun things to do and nice places to see. Icaria is an expensive beach area but if you can afford it, why not? It surely worths its price. Hotels at the beach front have rates that are sky-rocketing.
Weather
In Barcelona, you’d enjoy their Mediterranean climate. This means that the weather during winter is just mild and humid. During the summer, it’s a bit warm and dry but that’s just perfect because it will make you want to go swimming and Barcelona can offer you lovely places to swim!
